The world population is being affected by one devastating disease called Cancer. Because of this disease so many children, adolescent, young and old people have died. Scientists have found different kind of treatment for cancer; however, it doesn’t work for everyone who is diagnosed by cancer. What makes this disease unique is that it has a treatment but doesn’t have any cure. And if I get a chance to invent one useful thing for humankind will be a Cure for cancer. Why I choose to invent the cure for cancer is because of these reasons: – death of family member because of cancer and people in the world being affected by cancer. This cure will give a chance for billions of people in the world to live a happy life.
Cancer has knocked each and every ones house and from one of the houses was mine. I was born and raised in Addis Ababa (capital of Ethiopia) until I came to United States before three years ago. I was nurtured and raised by my grandmother; my grand mother was a strong woman, both emotionally and physically. She came to United States to visit my aunt; after a few days my grandma starts getting sick and when she visited a Doctor she was told that she was diagnosed with cancer. All the strength she had was lost once she knows she was diagnosis with cancer. The Doctors told her that it is to late to give her a treatment and the diagnosis have no cure. After suffering for more than six month my grandmother passed on April 6, 2006.This coincidence opened my eye to start researching about the disease and I keep asking my self how things would look like if there were a cure for it.
Like my grandmother people in different age category surrender for cancer not because they are losers it is because they know that there is no CURE for it. All these problems that face the patient’s of Cancers can be elevate by my invention, which will cure all types of cancers. Imagine how the patients face and those who loves them would react when they find there is a CURE for cancer.
If I could invent the cure for cancer it will have less physical effect. Some of the treatments used in these days cause a high physical affect. For example if we take chemotherapy it have different kind of effects like nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, and depending on the type of chemo used the patient can also lose their hair. But my new invention could reduce some of the high physical effects.
Things would not always be perfect as planed but experimenting and processing can make a progress. And for me being accepted by the University of Maryland: College Park can make a difference for every one in the world. And if I can invent the cure for cancer it will give a chance for billions of people in the world to live a happy life. . It is not what the world did for me but what will I do for my community and all around it.

Like my grandmother, people in different age groups fall victims to cancer, and they give up, because they are told that there is no cure. I believe, that many people faced by the cancers would improve by the remedy itself and just by the knowledge that an effective cure does exist.
Thus such a cure would have a physical and an emotional effect, hopefully without the negative side effects such as: nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, or hair loss, for example.
Thus even if not immediately perfect, any potential cure is better than none, and with a research, the improvement can come. I believe that by being accepted by the University of Maryland, I could help the team at College Park to make a difference. I feel that I can help to find a remedy for cancer that will help to improve lives of many people in the world.
